Earlier in 2025, Iran’s visa policy required all foreign tourists to:
- Book a fixed tour through a licensed Iranian travel agency,
- Provide a detailed itinerary before entry.
- And be accompanied by a registered tour guide throughout their trip.
While this rule helped regulate travel and promote safety, it limited the freedom of independent exploration that many travelers love.
Now, the Iranian authorities have relaxed these conditions. Travelers from many countries can once again:
